The Salcete Excise office in coordination with the flying squad has successfully raided a warehouse at Aquem-Margao late Monday night and seized liquor bottles worth around Rs 77,000.
Acting on a tip off, an Excise team led by Inspector Durgadas Naik and flying squad officer Jeetender Adpaikar along with Excise guards descended at the warehouse in the heart of the commercial capital at Aquem-Malbhat area.
The Excise team found to their surprise dozens of whisky bottles, all valued around Rs 77,000.
He informed that the liquor bottles were stacked in an unauthorised warehouse. Saying that no one has claimed responsibility for stacking the liquor at the unauthorised warehouse, the liquor has been seized by the department.
Further investigation is in progress.
